Slavery to freedom
Word for meditation -
- John 8:31. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, [then] are ye my disciples indeed
- John 8:32. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free
4 steps to freedom to those who believe
- Continue in the word
- Become disciples
- Know the truth
- Obtain freedom
Persisting with word
These are sequential steps to freedom. Rom 12.2 paul tells us about the transforming power of the word.
Here Jesus is giving the first step to those who believe - people who have accepted christ as their savior.
Continue in the word - Importance of studying the word. Word- bible is a manual for a christian.
Practicing what you hear and learn
Being obedient- disciples - to what the word says Life and your works need to align. what you learn needs to be practiced in life. Jesus says anyone who read and hears the word of god but does not follow it in life is like a person who lacks stability in life - person who builds house on the sand.
Receiving Revelation of the truth
Spiritual eyes would be opened- to identify the truths in the bible. pick up the precious stones in the bible.
Freedom
when persisting with the above 3 steps. you will see freedom in the various areas of life.
e.g sickness, fear,knowledge, understanding, finance, worries,etc
